PLACER COUNTY, CA (MPG) - Delusion and misperception drive the stories shared by Placer Repertory Theater's 2026-2027 theatrical season, “Unmasking the Shadow,” that includes three new stage plays based upon classic literary source material (Dracula, Don Quixote, Sherlock

Holmes) touring Placer County and the Sacramento area Sept. 2026 through

June 2027 and available for booking.

“Our artistic intent this season was to develop new works that begin with false

premises. Characters that are self-deluded or are misperceiving others, only to strip

away the stories these characters tell themselves and the masks they wear or

misperceive on others to discover Truth,” said Producing Artistic Director, T.S Forsyth.

“Each play this season explores a dynamic shift from initial perceptions and beliefs to

the journey’s end with newfound realization.”

Placer Rep’s 2026-2027 Main Season shows include "Dracula (on Tour)" Back by popular demand! This production has been in development since last year’s script-in-hand preview. The opening run is Sept- Oct 2026, then the show is available for BOOKING through June 2027. An

interactive melodrama full of fun, romance, thrills and drama!

The Main Season also includes "Don Quixote de la Mental Institution" (working title). A brand-new immersive, devised work. Play cards, take your pills, and watch “Don Quixote” struggle with

his mental health. Features a tour de force performance on an epic scale by Carson Sloan, with support from the other patients and visitors on the ward (that’s YOU). February/March 2027 production and available for booking!

The final show will premiere in April 2027, "Sherlock Holmes: A Study in Scarlet." A new play based upon the plot and characters of the first ever Sherlock Holmes novel. This thrilling detective play, punctuated with comedy, includes the journey of the Holmes & Watson

bromance!
