(NAPSI)—There’s good news for young men who think that life is getting too complicated. There is one thing that is actually getting more convenient—registering with the Selective Service.

Young men are required by law to register with the Selective Service System within 30 days of their 18th birthday. Failure to do so can result in fines and, in some cases, incarceration.

Increased Convenience

Fortunately, it is now possible to register online. To make it even more convenient, you can even use an iPhone, BlackBerry or other smartphone or computer. However, those who prefer the “old school” way can still register at a post office or when they fill out a FAFSA form.

A Key To Opportunities

By registering with Selective Service, young men stay eligible for Pell Grants, College Work-Study and Guaranteed Student/ PLUS Loans.

Another advantage is that a young man stays eligible for federal job training, as well as numerous federal jobs.
