Sandhill Crane Presentation

Sierra Foothills Audubon hosts Paul Tebbel talking about Sandhill Cranes

Sandhill Crane presentation by Paul Tebbel! Paul ran the National Audubon’s Rowe Sanctuary on the Platte River for 11 years and has been giving workshops on Sandhill Crane behavior at western Crane Festivals for the past 30 years. He will talk at Sierra Foothills Audubon meeting on Tuesday, December 3 at Madeline Helling Library Community room at 7:00 pm.  This presentation will take you deep into the lives of sandhill cranes through descriptions of their unique behaviors and their annual life cycles.  You'll learn how to tell adults from juveniles; how to tell apart the subspecies; and more about their wonderful and unique calls.  Considerable time will be spent on their nesting and raising of their young since they nest in remote wetlands.   The program is free and open to the public. For more information call program chair Theresa Thomas at 530-264-6742
