Placer County Supervisor Shanti Landon Appointed to National Leadership Position on Agriculture and Rural Affairs
Jul 30, 2024 05:11PM ● By Placer County News ReleaseAUBURN, CA (MPG) - Placer County District 2 Supervisor Shanti Landon has been appointed Rural Development Subcommittee Vice Chair for the National Association of Counties Agriculture and Rural Affairs Policy Steering Committee.
The one-year appointment was announced today by NACo President James Gore.
Landon will play a key role in shaping national policy on agriculture, rural development and related issues.
“I am honored to be selected for this position and look forward to representing Placer County and California’s rural communities on a national level,” said Landon. “This opportunity will allow me to advocate for policies that support our agricultural industry and enhance the quality of life for our rural residents.”
The Agriculture and Rural Affairs Policy Steering Committee is responsible for NACo policy on all matters pertaining to agriculture, rural development, U.S. Department of Agriculture programs, rural energy development, research and extension, food safety, and conservation programs.
