AUBURN, CA (MPG) –
The Academic Decathlon team at Rocklin High School has emerged victorious again, earning their fourth consecutive county title with a team score of 30,378.1 points among various individual accolades. The team will continue to the California Academic Decathlon competition next month.

“Rocklin High’s continued success is a testament to the hard work and dedication of students and staff throughout the county,” says Placer County Superintendent of Schools Gayle Garbolino-Mojica. “Their performance reflects not only their intellect but also their unwavering commitment to excellence.”

Four Placer County high schools including Rocklin High School, Roseville High School, Western Sierra Collegiate Academy and Whitney High School participated in the county Academic Decathlon competition earlier this month.

Decathletes competed in three specified groups (Honors, Scholastic and Varsity) based on grade-point average and across 10 categories in subjects like Economics, Literature, Music, Science and more. More than 100 individual accolades were awarded, including 39 bronze, 33 silver and 34 gold medals.

Radian Hong (Honors), Trevor Douglas (Scholastic) and Aniridh Annareddy (Varsity) from Rocklin High School also claimed top spots as Gold Super Decathletes, earning the highest score at their respective levels and the highest cumulative scores from all ten events.

“Congratulations to the winners and all of those who participated in this year's academic decathlon,” says SAFE Credit Union Vice President for Community Relations and Financial Education Rebecca Delmundo. "SAFE values you and your education and we are honored to be able to contribute to you and your future, and in what will most certainly help you to impact your communities."

“We are grateful to SAFE Credit Union for their investment in academic success and student achievement," continues Garbolino-Mojica. “Alongside our community partners, the Placer County Office of Education is honored to recognize the educational excellence shown by students in the Academic Decathlon program.”
